Winter Athletics Physicals and New Maple Hill Nurse
Please be sure all athletics health questions and paperwork (such as updated physicals) are being sent to the new Maple Hill Nures, Kathryn Meyers. She can be reached by email at kmeyers@schodack.k12.ny.us and if you have not done so already, please fax your student’s most recent physical to 518-732-0494 if they are participating in winter sports.
Athletics Registration
Registration is open from October 18 – November 13, 2024.
All Maple Hill Athletics registration is done online here using ArbiterSports (formerly FamilyID). You will need to create an account to register if you do not already have one.
Meet the Coaches/Chemical Health Night
The Maple Hill Athletic Department holds a Meet the Coaches/Chemical Health Night before each athletic season. Attendance is required for all student-athletes participating in the Winter 2024-25 Season.
Meet the Coaches/Chemical Health Night will be held at Maple Hill on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Meet the Coaches will start at 6:00 PM and Chemical Health is immediately after. Students may leave after the Meet the Coaches portion of the night if they attended Chemical Health earlier this school year for fall sports.
Athletics Season Start Dates
Start dates for Maple Hill’s Winter 2024-25 Athletics Season are:
JV and Varsity Sports: Monday, November 18
Modified Sports: Monday, December 2
Athletic Placement Process (APP) Testing
7th and 8th-grade students who would like to participate in a sport at the JV or Varsity level must first complete the Athletic Placement Process (APP) to ensure the safety of our student-athletes.
APP testing will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:15 PM in the Maple Hill Gym. The packet below must be filled out and returned for students to participate in APP testing.
TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AWAY CONTESTs
All players and team personnel will ride to and from all athletic contests on transportation approved and provided by the school district. It is highly recommended that all student-athletes travel to and from away contests with their team; however, there are certain circumstances where a student-athlete will need to travel with their parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must sign the transportation release provided by the coach before taking their son/daughter from the contest. Permission for a student-athlete to leave with any other individual will not be given.
Student-Athlete Drop-Off & Pick-Up
This is a quick reminder that student-athletes should not be dropped off or picked up in the parking area off of South Schodack Road behind the high school. Please drop off/pick up all student-athletes for practices and games/meets at the front of the high school. Also, please remember except for handicapped parking, there is no spectator parking in this same area for softball games, baseball games or track meets.
Traffic in this area behind the school can lead to congestion and also poses a safety issue to our student-athletes walking through it.
Sports Schedule Website
Schodack CSD, along with schools in the Patroon Conference, uses the ScheduleGalaxy website/app for sports schedules. The site also offers a subscription option to receive updates about schedule changes. Click here to access the website.
Top Form Tele-Med Services
Top Form Performance Training Clinic offers athletic telemedicine services at no cost to Schodack student-athletes who need them. More information about Top Form Tele-Med is available on the form here.

Student-Athletes and Afterschool Activities
Due to limited supervision for students after 3:00 p.m., Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School would like to share the following information with parents of student-athletes.
- Student-athletes with a 3:00 p.m. or earlier practice time can stay in the cafeteria with supervision or stay with a teacher from the end of the school day until practice begins.
- If a student-athlete is not staying after school with a teacher, he or she should go home on the regular bus and come back to school for games or practices that begin after 3:00 p.m.
- If a student is staying after school with a teacher, the student should take the late bus and come back to school for games or practices that begin after 3:00 p.m.
- If a student-athlete cannot make it back to school, please notify the coach and Athletic Director April Smith (asmith@schodack.k12.ny.us) so supervision arrangements can be made.
Please Observe “No Parking” Signs for Sporting Events
The district would like to remind our community to please observe “No Parking” signs for sporting events, particularly on South Schodack Road and behind the High School. Please park only in the High School or District Office building parking lots. Due to safety concerns, the district has asked Schodack police to enforce these rules and violators may be ticketed.
