Spring 2026 Athletics Season

Athletics Registration

Spring 2026 Athletics Registration is open for students in grades 7–12 from Monday, February 9–Monday, March 9, 2026.

All athletics registration is done through ParentSquare, and a message with registration forms was sent to all grades 7–12 families on February 9. You can find the message here (you will be redirected from the district website to ParentSquare).

Updated Sports Physicals

No student will be permitted to play or try out with an expired physical. Physicals are valid for 12 continuous months. If your student’s last physical was before March 1, 2025, please contact your pediatrician as soon as possible to schedule one.

March 2 Physical Appointments at Maple Hill

Limited sports physical appointments will be available at the Maple Hill Nurse’s Office on Friday, March 6. Contact the Nurse’s Office (518-732-7701) ASAP if you cannot schedule an appointment with your pediatrician or if you need to verify whether your student’s physical is up to date.

Season Start Dates

JV/Varsity Sports: Monday, March 9

Modified Sports: Monday, March 16

Meet the Coaches/Chemical Health Night

The Maple Hill Athletics Department holds a Meet the Coaches/Chemical Health Night before each season. Attendance is required for all student-athletes participating in the Spring 2026 Season. It will start at 6:00 PM at Maple Hill on Wednesday, March 4.

Athletic Placement Process (APP) Testing

7th and 8th-grade students who wish to participate in a sport at the JV or Varsity level must first complete the Athletic Placement Process (APP) to ensure their safety. Students may participate in APP testing based on coach recommendations on Tuesday, March 3, at 2:00 PM in the Maple Hill Gym.

Sports Schedule Website

Schodack CSD, along with schools in the Patroon Conference, uses the ScheduleGalaxy website/app for sports schedules. The site also offers a subscription option to receive updates about schedule changes.

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AWAY CONTESTS

All players and team personnel will ride to and from all athletic contests on transportation approved and provided by the school district. It is highly recommended that all student-athletes travel to and from away contests with their team; however, there are certain circumstances where a student-athlete will need to travel with their parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must sign the transportation release provided by the coach before taking their son/daughter from the contest. Permission for a student-athlete to leave with any other individual will not be given.

Student-Athlete Drop-Off & Pick-Up

This is a quick reminder that student-athletes should not be dropped off or picked up in the parking area off of South Schodack Road behind the high school. Please drop off/pick up all student-athletes for practices and games/meets at the front of the high school. Also, please remember, except for handicapped parking, there is no spectator parking in this same area for softball games, baseball games or track meets.

Traffic in this area behind the school can lead to congestion and also poses a safety issue to our student-athletes walking through it.

Student-Athletes and Afterschool Activities

Due to limited supervision for students after 3:00 p.m., Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School would like to share the following information with parents of student-athletes.

  • Student-athletes with a 3:00 p.m. or earlier practice time can stay in the cafeteria with supervision or stay with a teacher from the end of the school day until practice begins.
  • If a student-athlete is not staying after school with a teacher, he or she should go home on the regular bus and come back to school for games or practices that begin after 3:00 p.m.
  • If a student is staying after school with a teacher, the student should take the late bus and come back to school for games or practices that begin after 3:00 p.m.
  • If a student-athlete cannot make it back to school, please notify the coach and the athletic director so supervision arrangements can be made.
Please Observe “No Parking” Signs for Sporting Events

The district would like to remind our community to please observe “No Parking” signs for sporting events, particularly on South Schodack Road and behind the High School. Please park only in the High School or District Office building parking lots. Due to safety concerns, the district has asked Schodack police to enforce these rules and violators may be ticketed.
