Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Registration

Schodack Central School District operates a New York State grant-funded Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program that is facilitated and operated by Story Place Preschool Inc., which is located in the Schodack District Office Building. UPK is open to children residing in Schodack who are 4 years old on or before December 1 of the current school year. UPK registration information is available here.

Kindergarten Registration

  • Schodack Kindergarten Registration Packet
    • Children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1 of the year they will start school to be eligible to start kindergarten.
    • Parents are encouraged to register incoming kindergartners early to ensure they receive important mailings.

Grades 1-12 Registration

Homeschool Instruction Registration

Schodack Central School District utilizes the Questar III BOCES Home Instruction Service. Families who live in the Schodack Central School District and are interested in enrolling their students in homeschooling using the Questar III Home Instruction Service can find information and registration instructions here.

Homeschool Student Participation in Interscholastic Sports and District Activities

Per the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA), students enrolled in homeschooling may not participate in interscholastic district sports.

Per Schodack Board of Education policy, students enrolled in homeschool may also not participate in credit-bearing district activities. However, they may participate in district activities for which the student would not receive credit.
