Each year, the district’s Information Technology Department visits 1st grade classrooms to teach students about computers and share how the district’s technology works.
Showing students the insides of computers, tablets and other hardware, Computer Network Manager Jim Yox and Computer Network Administrator Matt Purificato shared how much technology has evolved and gotten so much smaller over the years.
Students also learned how information travels as Mr. Yox and Mr. Purificato described how a student making a request from a device travels through the district’s network all the way to Google headquarters in California and back seemingly instantaneously.
“That’s so cool!” said one student.
“That’s crazy!” said another.
