Schodack CSD Community,

As of this afternoon, there is no state guidance regarding the reopening of our schools for the fall of the 2021-22 school year. As the summer approaches, we are patiently awaiting new requirements before reworking health and safety protocols (mask-wearing, social distancing, etc.), the instructional program (hybrid, virtual, etc.), and other areas that impact our operations (transportation, isolation rooms, pick-up and drop off, etc.). Throughout the spring, we have been anticipating and planning for a full return to in-person instruction for all students, though this may not necessarily be allowed by the state.

It is the district’s intention to return to normal start times for the fall and return all buildings to their normal configurations. Although this is subject to change based on any new guidance, this would mean we are currently planning the following for September:

  • CES (Grades K-6): 7:55 a.m. – 2:25 p.m.
  • MHHS (Grades 7-12): 7:40 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The District is currently planning several community meetings with Superintendent Jason Chevrier to gather feedback and discuss the reopening of schools, along with stimulus spending. In addition, this will be a forum to stay connected and discuss any new guidelines and requirements. Currently, each of these forums will be held virtually and will begin at 6:00 p.m. The schedule is below:

  • Community Forum #2 – July 14
  • Community Forum #3 – August 4
  • Community Forum #4 – August 25

As was done last summer, the District will work to keep you updated as new guidance is released and, if necessary, will arrange opportunities for your input and suggestions.

We thank you for your support, patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic.
