Update: January 16, 2024

Due to the school closures on Tuesday, January 16, grade 3-8 students will now participate in computer-based testing (CBT) simulations for the NYS Grade 3-8 Assessments on Wednesday, January 17, and Thursday, January 18.

Students will be using their Chromebooks for the CBT simulations, so grade 7-8 students should bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on January 17-18.

Schodack CSD Grade 3-8 Families,

This year the New York State Education Department is transitioning its annual Grade 3-8 Assessments to fully computer-based testing (CBT). This means Schodack students will be taking the Grade 3–8 English Language Arts Assessments (ELA), the Grade 3-8 Mathematics Assessments and the Elementary-level (Grade 5) and Intermediate-level (Grade 8) Science Assessments on their district-provided Chromebooks.

Since this will be different from how our students have taken these assessments in the past, we have scheduled CBT simulations for all grade 3-8 students next week on Tuesday, January 16, and Wednesday, January 17.

Each simulation will be 10-12 questions and should take no more than 40 minutes. These will only be simulations to test district technology and prepare students for what the eventual real assessments will be like. Students will not be taking real assessments on these dates.

Students will be using their Chromebooks for the CBT simulations, so grade 7-8 students should bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on January 16-17. Grade 3-6 students will already have their Chromebooks at school.
