Unity House Domestic Violence Services staff presented on the topic of domestic violence and teen dating violence this week during a virtual assembly.

Teens are currently the fastest growing population of domestic violence victims. One in three teenagers will be a victim of dating abuse. Youth victims are now perpetrating high rates of dating violence against each other via technology.

Unity House staff focused on healthy vs. unhealthy relationship characteristics. Relationship behavior most often starts at home and training youth on health and unhealthy relationships can help them identify and ask for help in not only their own relationships but with their peers and family members.

Thank you to Sarah McGaughnea and Julie Keegan, of the Unity House, for speaking with our students!
