All 2021-2022 school COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s 2021-2022 Reopening & COVID-19 Updates page here.

Dear Schodack Families,

Now that we have dismissed all of our students for the holiday recess, I want to quickly check in on a few things.

Positive COVID Cases Today

Today (December 23) we were notified that one individual at Castleton Elementary and one individual at Maple Hill had tested positive for COVID-19. At this time all individuals who were possibly exposed and told they must quarantine have been contacted. If you were not contacted directly no further action is needed on your part.

Important Reminders for the Holiday Recess

It is hard to believe that the holiday recess is already here but I also know that for many it is arriving at just the right time. These first four months of the year brought the long-awaited return of some normalcy to our day-to-day school lives but also continued to bring its own set of challenges for all. My hope is that this break and the remaining holidays provide all of you in our school community time to recharge for the second half of the year.

While students will be out of school, I ask that you please continue to monitor them for any COVID-19 symptoms. If your student tests positive over the break, please contact your family doctor and the appropriate district staff below to let us know.

Even though we will be on break there is a possibility that other classmates or staff could still be affected by a new positive case in the district.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and collaboration during these last four months. With your help, we have been able to keep our schools open for the first half of the year with minimal disruption and I know we can do the same when we return for the second half in 2022.

Sincerely,

Jason M. Chevrier
Superintendent
Schodack Central School District
