Please see the following message from Superintendent Chevrier which was emailed to Schodack families on November 19.

All 2021-2022 school COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s 2021-2022 Reopening & COVID-19 Updates page here.

Dear Schodack Families,

As you likely know by now, the Centers for Disease Control recently gave final approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 – 11.

It is recommended that the first stop for anyone interested in discussing vaccination or scheduling an appointment for their 5 – 11-year-old should be your family’s pediatrician. The Rensselaer County DOH is working closely with pediatricians throughout the county as vaccinations for 5-11-year-olds begin.

Regardless of their age, if you choose to have your child vaccinated we are asking that you please provide proof of vaccination to the district as soon as possible if you have not done so already. It is important we know the vaccination status of our students since it directly affects quarantine protocols for those exposed to COVID-19 in school. Vaccinated students exposed to a positive COVID-19 case do not need to quarantine and can continue attending school as long as they remain asymptomatic.

You can provide proof of vaccination for your student in one of two ways:

  1. Upload it to your Schodack FamilyID account. If you do not already have one you can create one here and also let us know if you do or do not consent to in-school COVID-19 testing. You do not need to consent to testing to create an account and upload vaccination proof. If you need assistance with FamilyID you can contact Jill Hanrahan (JHanrahan@schodack.k12.ny.us or 518-732-4982)
  2. Send it directly to your school’s nurse: Nurse Brewer at CES (HBrewer@Schodack.k12.ny.us) or Nurse Croft at MH (bcroft@schodack.k12.ny.us)
