As of the 2026–27 school year, the Maple Hill Athletics Department has started a new student-athlete recognition program: Wildcats of the Week!

Each week, Maple Hill student-athletes will be recognized for accomplishments based on the following criteria:

  • The student-athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week before selection; OR
  • The student-athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement/effort, community service and/or other notable traits

Addy Feldman (Modified Cross Country)

Addy has been a great leader at practices and meets and has set some great goals for the season. On Tuesday, she finished in 1st place in our Patroon Conference dual meet at Hudson. On Saturday, she led the Wildcats, placing 7th out of 139 runners at the Queensbury Invitational.

Jacob Germaine (Varsity Golf)

Senior Jacob Germaine has been a varsity starter since 7th grade—the only golfer in Maple Hill program history to accomplish that feat—and has established himself as one of the greatest players in program history. After averaging 40.9 as a sophomore and 40.4 as a junior, Jacob is averaging 39.2 through 13 matches this season, including eight rounds in the 30s and five straight rounds in the 30s. A two-time Patroon Conference League MVP, Jacob’s impact goes well beyond his scores, as his calm demeanor, steady leadership, willingness to help younger players, and ability to handle adversity have helped elevate the culture and expectations of Maple Hill Golf. As he prepares for his final home matches and a final sectional run, there could not be a more deserving Wildcat of the Week.

Josh Reickert (Varsity Soccer)

Josh has been outstanding in goal, recording two shutouts last week and making several key saves in Maple Hill’s tie against Greenville. His confidence, communication, and willingness to make brave saves have been a major part of the Wildcats’ defensive success. Maple Hill is now 5-0-1 on the season, having allowed just three goals through six games. Josh’s leadership and consistency have helped anchor one of the strongest defenses in the area and make him a deserving Wildcat of the Week.

Max Tadjbakhsh (Varsity Cross Country & Varsity Soccer)

Max had an outstanding performance at Olana State Historic Site, one of the toughest courses in the Patroon Conference, finishing first in 17:41. His victory helped Maple Hill secure a key league win over Greenville, a team that had previously finished ahead of us at both the Ekiden and Blackbird Invitationals. A dedicated dual-sport athlete, Max balances cross country and soccer while continuing to challenge himself and pursue his goal of running at the collegiate level. His determination, competitiveness, and commitment to both teams make him a deserving Wildcat of the Week.

Sophia Feldman (Varsity Volleyball)

Last week, Sophia made her first start as a varsity setter. After her first two matches, she has accumulated 11 service aces with a 96% serving success rate. Sophia has also piled up 35 assists.

Jacobi Fredericks (Modified Soccer)

In Jacobi’s first game wearing a Maple Hill jersey, he came up with 1 goal, 1 assist and also contributed in goal to keep the shutout for the young Wildcats in a 2-0 victory over Chatham.

Lyla Pinkowski (Varsity Soccer)

Lyla has been a critical piece of our defense for three years, and this past week she took her game to another level. Facing tough competition, she played three outstanding games, contributing to clean sheets in two of the three. As a senior defender, Lyla is a tenacious and reliable ball winner who consistently locks down the left side of our defense. Beyond the field, she is a quiet leader who leads by example through her work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to do whatever is needed for her teammates and program. Lyla is the ultimate teammate and an invaluable part of Girls Varsity Soccer.
