Registration is open for children starting kindergarten at Castleton Elementary in September 2026. Please share the following with any Schodack residents who have a child who will be 5 years old by December 1, 2026.
You Must Be Registered to Participate in:
- Wednesday, April 15 – Incoming Kindergarten Parent & Student Night
- This is a great way for incoming kindergarten families to be introduced to Castleton Elementary, the school’s faculty/staff and other incoming kindergarten families.
- Thursday, May 7 – Kindergarten & Grade 1 Read-In
- Incoming registered kindergartners are welcome to join our current kindergartners and 1st graders at this fun event!
- May 19–21 – Kindergarten Screening by Appointment
- All incoming kindergarteners must participate in a screening appointment before starting school in September.
Registered kindergarten families also receive important emails and mailings from Castleton Elementary through the spring/summer leading up to starting school in September.
Registering for Kindergarten
Children living in the Schodack Central School District who will be 5 years old by December 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll. Kindergarten registration packets are available on the Student Registration page here.
If you would like to pick up a hard copy, you can also stop by the Schodack District Office (1477 South Schodack Road) and speak to District Registrar Jill Hanrahan, or stop by the Castleton Elementary Main Office (80 Scott Avenue).
