Schodack CSD Community,
As you may know, Schodack’s Director of Teaching & Learning, Alyssa Sabbatino, is stepping down from her role this month. Over the last three years, Ms. Sabbatino has provided strong leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Schodack’s curriculum and instructional services. We thank her for all she has done for the district during her time here, including serving as Interim Principal of Maple Hill for a time, and wish her the very best in her next steps.
We have selected Mary Sheedy as Schodack’s next Director of Teaching & Learning and she will officially step into the role next week. She comes to Schodack from KIPP Capital Region Public Charter Schools, where she has served as Assistant Principal of KIPP Tech Valley Primary School since 2021. Before that, she was the Founding Director of the Primary School’s Upper School program, where she oversaw the development of teacher training, curricular design, and program implementation in the Primary School’s upper grade levels. Throughout her time there, she has also served as the school’s New York State Testing Coordinator.
We are excited to have her join the Schodack CSD team and look forward to more of you meeting her later this summer and when the school year starts. In the meantime, please feel free to email Ms. Sheedy (msheedy@schodack.k12.ny.us) and welcome her to Schodack!
