DRIVE A SCHOOL BUS DEMO LOCATION UPDATE (May 20): The Drive a School Bus Demo will now take place in the District Bus Garage Parking Lot, just around the corner from Maple Hill High School and right behind the District Office Building (1477 South Schodack Rd). PTO Strawberry Festival
Schodack Central School District welcomes back the annual PTO Strawberry Festival on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 4:15 PM – 8:00 PM at Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School! This event is free and open to the entire Schodack CSD community.
The Castleton Elementary PTO will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips, drinks, baked goods & sugared strawberries over vanilla ice cream inside the Maple Hill Cafeteria, where there is plenty of seating available to sit and eat. Plus, there will also be a bounce house and student-run carnival games outside!
While you’re there, don’t forget to stop into the Maple Hill Gym to vote on the 2025-26 School Year Budget and the 2025 Board of Education Election. More information about both is here.
Proceeds from food and the bounce house will benefit the 4th-grade class for their 5th-grade field trip and proceeds from the carnival games will benefit the 9th-grade class for their class trip. Please note: Cash & Venmo will be accepted for food and the bounce house, but carnival games are cash only.
Drive a School Bus Demo (LOCATION UPDATE)
Want to try driving a Schodack CSD School Bus? During the Strawberry Festival, there will be a Drive a School Bus Demonstration from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM in the District Bus Garage Parking Lot, just around the corner from Maple Hill High School and right behind the District Office Building (1477 South Schodack Rd). Anyone who is 21 or older with a valid driver’s license is welcome to stop by and see what it’s like driving a school bus. Schodack Transportation Director Rhonda Greenway will be on site to show you how it’s done and answer any of your questions!
Schodack always welcomes new additions to its substitute bus driver list and is on the lookout for future full-time drivers as vacancies arise, so if you’re curious about what it’s like to drive a bus, we encourage you to stop by on May 20!
