If you live in the Schodack Central School District and your child is starting kindergarten at Castleton Elementary School in September 2025, please register them as soon as possible. Registered families receive important information from Castleton Elementary leading up to students starting kindergarten in September. Families will not receive this information unless they register.
Families will also want to get registered ASAP for the following events.
- Wednesday, April 2: Incoming Kindergarten Family Activity Night – 6:00 PM at CES
- Get introduced to the school and meet faculty/staff and other kindergarten families. You can attend if you have not yet registered. Pick up a registration packet at the event and staff will help you get started.
- Friday, May 9: Kindergarten & 1st Grade Read-In – 6:00 PM at CES
- Incoming registered kindergartners are more than welcome at this fun event.
- May 20-22: Kindergarten Orientation/Screening by appointment.

If you would like to pick up a hard copy of the registration packet you can also stop by the District Office (1477 South Schodack Road) and speak to District Registrar, Jill Hanrahan, or stop by the Castleton Elementary Main Office (80 Scott Avenue).
Children living in the Schodack Central School District who will be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2025, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten.
