Schodack CSD Families,
I am checking in to address a rumor that was circulating around Maple Hill this morning that a student had supposedly brought a gun into the building. Several parents reached out letting us know that they had heard this rumor today from their own Maple Hill students.
As with all potential threats, this rumor was taken very seriously and School Resource Officer Eckel, Principal Santarcangelo and Assistant Principal Tommasini immediately began to investigate. After completing their investigation and speaking with all the students who reported the rumor, it was determined that there was in fact no gun inside the building. At no time was there any active threat to the safety of our students, faculty or staff.
We appreciate everyone who reached out to us with their concerns this morning. Please never hesitate to reach out to us in the future about similar concerns and remind your students to do the same. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly at the District Office at (518) 732-2297 or by email (JChevrier@schodack.k12.ny.us).
Sincerely,
Jason M. Chevrier
Superintendent
Schodack Central School District
