Dear Schodack CSD Community,
I wanted to let you know we have selected the next Assistant Principal of Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School. Angela Tommasini was appointed at last night’s board of education meeting and we anticipate she will start her new role at Maple Hill in January after we return from the holiday recess.
Ms. Tommasini was chosen as the successful candidate by a stakeholder interview committee composed of Maple Hill and district employees, as well as Maple Hill parents and students.
She comes to Schodack from the Cohoes City School District. She has been the School Social Worker at Cohoes High School since 2019, which has given her experience working with a diverse population of students and their families. During her time there, she has been serving on several committees focused on improving school climate and student achievement including the Building Leadership Team, the Student Success Team and the Building Wide Safety Committee.
We will introduce you further to Ms. Tommasini once it is closer to her official start date, but I wanted to let you know about her appointment in the meantime. We are excited to have her join the Schodack team and help lead Maple Hill alongside Mr. Santarcangelo.
