Schodack CSD Families,
Our district uses the Behavior Intervention Monitoring Assessment System-2 (BIMAS-2) research-based screening tool to help us better understand all our students’ behavioral and social/emotional needs. This allows us to develop more effective school, classroom and individual intervention plans. This universal screening is part of our ongoing processes to monitor and support our students’ overall health and well-being.
Schodack K-12 students will participate in brief BIMAS sessions at school between October 21 – October 31, 2024 October 28 – November 8, 2024. They will participate in two more sessions later this school year, one in the winter and one in the spring.
Once completed, the BIMAS-2 results will be reviewed by our district’s Student Services Team (SST). You will be notified if your student is eligible to receive any services or additional support. The results are not used for diagnostic purposes or special education classification.
If you do not want your child screened, please complete the opt-out form here and return it to your school’s main office by Friday, October 18 Thursday, October 24. If you opt your students out of participating in BIMAS, there is no need to opt them out again later in the year for the winter and spring sessions. They will remain opted out for the remainder of the year.
