Dear Schodack CSD Community,

I hope your summer is off to a good start. I’m writing today with an update on Castleton Elementary School’s Assistant Principal. As many of you know, the last day of the 2023-2024 School Year was also Kara Likar’s last day as CES Assistant Principal. We thank Ms. Likar for everything she did for our district and CES during her time with us. We wish her the very best in her new role with the Saratoga Springs City School District.

Effective this week, the new Assistant Principal of Castleton Elementary School is Megan Sullivan, who was appointed at the June 20 Board of Education meeting.

Ms. Sullivan was chosen after an interview process with our search committee, which was composed of CES and district employees, as well as CES parents. She comes to Schodack from the Hudson City School District, where she taught 4th and 5th grade at Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School since 2017. While in Hudson, she also served as a grade-level chair and completed an administrative internship with the district.

Many of you will meet Ms. Sullivan later this summer or in September, but in the meantime please feel free to reach out to her by email (msullivan@schodack.k12.ny.us) and welcome her to Schodack!

Sincerely,

Jason M. Chevrier
Superintendent of Schools
Schodack Central School District
