Schodack CSD Community,

As I told you in my message at the end of last week, the board of education has accepted Mr. Breh’s resignation as Principal of Maple Hill. We are starting the search process for Maple Hill’s next principal but in the meantime, we are appointing an interim administrator to provide additional support at the school. Effective today (March 20), Alyssa Sabbatino will be taking on that role as the Acting Principal of Maple Hill through the remainder of the school year.

Ms. Sabbatino is currently our district’s Director of Teaching & Learning and joined us here in Schodack last March. She has a background in teaching and as both a district-level and school-building administrator. Since coming to Schodack, she has made a point to spend an extensive amount of time in our schools getting to know the needs of our students and faculty/staff. I am confident she will provide excellent leadership at Maple Hill along with Assistant Principal Brochu while we conduct the search for the school’s next principal.

If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to speak with Ms. Sabbatino about, please do not hesitate to contact her by email (asabbatino@schodack.k12.ny.us).

We are currently putting together a committee of district stakeholders (families, faculty/staff and students) for the principal interview process. We plan to begin candidate interviews in April or early May and hope to have our next Maple Hill Principal appointed by the start of this coming summer. If you have an interest in being part of the interview committee, please reach out to Shelli Reickert by email (MReickert@schodack.k12.ny.us).

Sincerely,

Jason Chevrier
