Planning a program of study for grade nine is an important task for eighth-grade students and their parents. We encourage you to be involved in this planning. We will use report card grades, teacher recommendations, and test scores to select appropriate courses as we develop a high school schedule for your child.
There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the Maple Hill Junior/Senior High School auditorium. All parents and eighth-grade students are encouraged to attend. Graduation requirements, high school courses and electives, extracurricular opportunities and student expectations will be discussed.
As a follow up to the evening, School Counselor Teresa Hebert will be meeting with eighth-graders to fill out a 9th-grade course selection worksheet to be taken home and reviewed by you before being turned in to the guidance office.
Please feel free to contact Ms. Hebert at 518-732-7701, ext. 1122 with any questions you may have, and encourage your child to see her for any questions with the course selection form. Individual parent conferences will be available upon request. We look forward to seeing you on March 22!
