Castleton Elementary Schoolers showed up with tons of enthusiasm for the live stream of the American Library Association’s Youth Media Awards on January 30, 2023! Per the ALA’s website, “each year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards (YMA), including the prestigious Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards, guide parents, educators, librarians, and others in selecting the best materials for youth.”
Many CES students had favorite nominees they were rooting for – many even make personalized shirts for this event – and there was no hiding their enthusiasm (especially if their book won an award)! See the full list of 2023 Youth Media Award Winners on the School Library Journal’s website.
