Dear Schodack Families,

Please briefly review the following reminders from the Schodack Health Office Staff as we start the school year.

Home COVID Tests Still Available Upon Request

Schodack Central School District still has at-home COVID-19 test kits available upon request for school families. If you would like to request at-home COVID-19 tests this year, please contact Covid Coordinator Amanda Fish (afish@schodack.k12.ny.us or 518-732-7755, Option 1) and let her know how many tests you will need and for which students.

When to Stay Home

We have had a number of students test positive since returning to school and with most COVID protocols now gone, this means one of the most important things you can do now is keep students home if they are feeling unwell. This will help prevent not only COVID spread but also spread of the flu and strep throat which we will see more cases of as weather gets colder. It is not always easy to know when to keep students home, so please refer to this chart when deciding if your student should stay home.

If your student does test positive at home for COVID, please email covidinfo@schodack.k12.ny.us letting them know the test results or contact our Covid Coordinator (Amanda Fish at 518-732-7755, Option 1) or your school’s nurse (518-732-7755, Option 1 for CES or 518-732-7701, Option 1 for MH)

Appointments Required to Drop Off Student Medications

If you need to drop off medication for your student to take while in school, please do not show up unannounced. You will need to email your school’s nurse to make an appointment. Our nursing staff are very busy during the school day and will likely be unavailable if you drop by to see them without an appointment.
