Dear Schodack Community,
As most of you know, earlier this school year Maple Hill Principal Jacqueline Hill accepted our district’s newly created position of Director of Student Services. Being mid-year we did not want to cause any disruption for Maple Hill students and faculty/staff by having Ms. Hill transition to a new role until the school year ended. With July 1 right around the corner, Ms. Hill is about to begin her new role so I wanted to take a moment to announce the new Principal of Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School: Jason Breh.
Mr. Breh was appointed as Maple Hill Principal at our board meeting on June 16 and will begin his new role here in Schodack effective July 1. We chose Mr. Breh as the successful candidate after a thorough interview process where he met with not only faculty/staff but Maple Hill students and families as well. He comes to Schodack with past experience working in both the Albany City School District and the Schenectady City School District.
We will introduce families further to Mr. Breh very soon but in the meantime, I wanted to let you know about his appointment and start date. I also want to thank Ms. Hill for doing an outstanding job during her 4+ years as principal. She has been an inspirational leader for Maple Hill students and faculty/staff, helping guide them through some very difficult times in public education. While she leaves big shoes to fill, I know Mr. Breh is more than up to the challenge and I look forward to more members of the Maple Hill community meeting him in the coming months.
