To recognize the achievements of its students, Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School presents Student of the Quarter Awards at the end of each quarter of the school year. Students may be nominated for this award by any staff member, a representative of a community organization, a parent or another student. Students may be nominated for a single outstanding achievement, for service to the school or community or for significant improvement in school. Each quarter one student in each grade, 7-12, is selected for this award by a faculty committee after a review of all nominations.
Haylee Spar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andre Spar, was nominated for being a tremendous student, she is a leader in the classroom who is never afraid to raise her hand to answer questions. Here at Maple Hill, she plays soccer, basketball, and track. After high school, Haylee is interested in interior design and architecture and might consider going to school to study that someday.
Ava Noel, daughter of Mr. Robert Noel and Ms. Cori Noel, was nominated for acclimating very well to being a new student. She always completes her work, participates in class and is willing to help others. Here at Maple Hill, she plays basketball and is part of the track and cross country team. As of right now, Ava would like to be an orthodontist someday because she loves helping people.
Gabriella Pusateri, daughter of Mr. John Pusateri and Ms. Carol Jo Pusateri, was nominated for consistently performing fantastically in her Spanish class. Her work ethic is flawless. Outside of school, Gabriella is an active member of her church youth group and enjoys bike riding and reading. After high school, Gabriella would like to attend college and may want to pursue a career in nursing.
Aidan Loszynski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Loszynski, was nominated for being a genuinely kind, respectful and solid young man. Here at Maple Hill, he is a member of the varsity baseball team, basketball and Key Club. Outside of school, Aidan plays for the Tri-City Bombers baseball team and is an active member of his church youth group. Aidan hopes to go to a four-year college to study to be a physical therapist.
Natalie Deso, daughter of Mr. Thomas Myers and Ms. Jessica Trossbach, was nominated for working hard in English class and asking questions when she is confused and offering ideas in class discussion. Here at Maple Hill, she is on the soccer team and track team. Natalie is planning on attending college and majoring in business and she is also looking into getting her real estate license after she graduates.
Benjamin Marra, son of Mr. Benjamin Marra, was nominated for being a thoughtful, considerate, and dedicated student. Here at Maple Hill, he plays soccer and basketball along with being a member of the track team. After graduation, Ben will be attending Columbia Greene Community College in the fall and hopes to major in business administration.
