Dear Schodack Families,
Two quick things before Spring Recess starts this Friday:
Test Kits Coming Home
We are planning to send all students home with rapid COVID-19 antigen test kits tomorrow (Thursday, April 14) with the hope that families will use them to test students before they return from Spring Recess on Monday, April 25.
If you have opted out of having test kits sent home in the past, then your student will not be sent home with one tomorrow. If you have opted out before but would like your student sent home with one tomorrow, please email our COVID-19 Coordinator Gina Parisse ASAP at gparisse@schodack.k12.ny.us
Each test kit contains two tests and our hope is that families will use one test on Sunday night (April 24) before students return to school, then use the other three days later on Wednesday morning before school (April 27). If your student tests positive, please keep them home from school and report the positive test result using the district’s COVID-19 Test Result Self Report form here.
Staying Home When Sick Even If Test Is Negative
Finally, please remember for the rest of the year that even if a student tests negative using a home test they still need to be symptom-free and fever-free without the use of medicine to come to school. While COVID-19 precautions have become less restrictive for schools, students should still be kept home if they are not feeling well, regardless of a negative COVID-19 test result.
Sincerely,
Jason M. Chevrier
Superintendent
