Please review the message below about the 8th Grade Transition Night on Wednesday, March 23.
Dear 8th Grade Families,
Planning a program of study for grade nine is an important task for eighth-grade students and their parents. We encourage you to be involved in this planning. Although it may seem early, we will use report card grades, teacher recommendations, and test scores to select appropriate courses as we develop a high school schedule for your child.
There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 6:30 PM in the Maple Hill Junior/Senior High School Auditorium. All parents and eighth-grade students are encouraged to attend. Graduation requirements, high school courses and electives, extracurricular opportunities, block scheduling, and student expectations will be discussed.
I will be meeting with eighth-graders to fill out a 9th-grade course selection worksheet to be taken home and reviewed by you before being turned in to the guidance office.
Please feel free to contact me at 518-732-7701, ext. 1123 with any questions you may have, and encourage your child to see me for any questions with the course selection form. Individual parent conferences will be available upon request. We look forward to seeing you on March 23.
Sincerely,
Lisa O’Leary, Maple Hill Guidance Counselor
