All 2021-2022 school COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s 2021-2022 Reopening & COVID-19 Updates page here.

Dear Schodack Families,

As mentioned in my message this past Sunday, each of your students will be bringing home a COVID-19 test kit provided to them by the district today.

Taking these tests is not required but I highly encourage all families to use them to test their students tonight. Our hope is that all families will test their students before school tomorrow whether they are symptomatic or not.

Each test kit comes with two tests, one which you are encouraged to use tonight and the other for future use at your discretion if your student is symptomatic or is identified as a close contact. Please follow the instructions included with the kits on how to properly use these tests.

If Your Students Tests Positive Tonight

Treat it as a confirmed positive case and do not send them into school tomorrow (January 5). Your student should begin isolation at home. Unvaccinated siblings in the same household should also not come to school, even if their home test is negative. Asymptomatic vaccinated siblings may come to school as long as they test negative.

Inform your school ASAP using the contact information below. Please provide your name, your student name(s) and their grade level. A district staff member will get back to you as quickly as possible. If your student tests negative, you do not need to contact us about a negative result.
