Class of 2021 and Families,

Clarification: Students and guests who are unvaccinated must wear masks and we want all students to bring their masks so we can take masked and un-masked class photos for memories. We are also asking all guests to have a mask just in case guidance changes, though we do not expect to have more changes at this time.

It is our pleasure to provide an update for the June 25 graduation ceremony.  As announced by Governor Cuomo on June 15, 2021, most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted as 70 percent of New Yorkers aged 18 and older have received the first dose of their vaccination series.  We were informed that this does include school-wide end of the year events with the following exception:

  • Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals, pursuant to federal CDC guidelines. This will be required for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies

How will this impact the graduation plan?

**Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals, pursuant to federal CDC guidelines**

All graduates are required to bring their Class of 2021 mask to the ceremony.

Outdoor Ceremony- We will no longer limit the number of attendees at the outdoor ceremony.

Due to the late notice, we are still asking families to bring their own seating.  We will have lines painted to show where rows should be formed. Please sit in the formed seating locations. Seats cannot be reserved by families. Families can start to arrive no earlier than 4:00.  As previously noted, the set up includes a large screen and audio system, so there is no bad seat! Please do not bring chairs with canopies or umbrellas to avoid obstructing the view of  others seated behind you.  We are asking that all guests have masks.  There will be reserved rows for staff, Board of Education members, and presenters. Please do not sit in those areas.

Indoor Ceremony- As in past years, we have to limit the number of attendees indoors to accommodate seating.  We will be increasing the number of guests indoors to 6 attendees per graduate.  Seats cannot be reserved by families. Families can start to arrive no earlier than 4:00. We will have seats set up indoors, so you will not need to bring your own chairs. There will be reserved rows for staff, Board of Education members, and presenters. Please do not sit in those areas.

We will be live streaming the ceremony as well. Information will be posted on our website and social media pages on where to view the ceremony.

We are excited to celebrate with you all! Congratulations to the Class of 2021!
