Maple Hill High School’s Kylie Roloson and teacher Janice Balogh have been honored as 2021 Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) Scholars Recognition recipients!

The annual recognition salutes the highest achieving high school seniors in the Capital Region and the teachers who inspire them.

Kylie is currently enrolled in the New Visions Medical Program. She is a member of the National Honor Society, participates in Soccer and Track and is a class officer, Co-President of Key Club and Yearbook Editor. Kylie volunteers at St. Peter’s Hospital and on the Castleton Ambulance squad. She was awarded the University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, Rensselaer Medal, Clarkson Leadership Award, RIT Innovation and Creativity Award, SWE Achievement Award and YMCA Outstanding Student Award. Kylie will attend the University of Rochester in the fall.

CASDA grants each student honoree the opportunity to nominate a teacher who has had a significant influence on their education. Kylie explained that she nominated Mrs. Balogh because she “has challenged and motivated me to do my best and pursue my passions. She’s truly a phenomenal and inspiring teacher.”
