New York State Senator Daphne Jordan visited Maple Hill Jr/Sr High School on Thursday to honor the Girls Soccer Program.

Student-athletes from the modified, Junior Varsity and Varsity girls soccer teams were named the winner of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Fall 2020 Community Service Challenge. The Maple Hill students took part in a letter-writing campaign in October, writing and sending letters to military personnel and first responders to say thank you and let them know that their courage and sacrifices have helped better the lives of school children everywhere.

Senator Jordan spoke to members of the teams and presented each one with a proclamation, which includes the names of each student-athlete and the coaches.
