Today (Saturday, Dec. 26) the District was notified that a staff member at Castleton Elementary School has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The individual was last in our building on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
We have been in contact with the Rensselaer County Department of Health and we are in the process of conducting contact tracing. While we understand that you might like additional details, due to privacy laws we cannot release any identifiable information about the individuals or affected students.
As a reminder during this holiday recess, please be aware that the State’s travel advisory is still in effect. Families who are traveling to/vacationing in the states listed on the NYS Department of Health travel advisory page must quarantine for 14 days upon their return
