I hope that everyone is doing well and is having a good start to the school year! I know that a lot of you have been asking and wondering if we will be able to have winter sports this year. We are still awaiting decisions from New York State and Section II, but as of right now, we are able to start practices on November 30th. We are hoping to have a clearer picture of what we will, and will not, be able to do in the coming days.
**Please know that there has been no final decisions on whether we will be able to hold winter sports this season. If NYS allows us to participate, we will still need to await guidance and decisions from Section II.**
In preparation for a Nov. 30 start date we are asking that you fill out a survey which will serve as the winter sports sign ups. We are asking that you sign up by this Friday Nov. 6. You will also need to turn in the appropriate paperwork to participate in athletics. You do need to have an updated physical exam to start winter sports. If you have not had one within one year, it is expired and you will need to have a new physical exam done by your doctor. The other two forms, the health history form and the eligibility card do need to be filled out and turned in each season. You can start handing in this paperwork as soon as you are signed up. It can also be found on our district’s athletic website. We are asking that the forms be turned in by Friday, Nov. 13 and they can be placed in the sports forms mailbox in the main office. If you are a full remote student, you can email the forms to Mrs. Croft and/or myself.
The winter sports offered are: Boys and Girls Basketball (Modified, JV and Varsity), Boys Wrestling (Modified and Varsity), Boys and Girls Bowling (Varsity) and Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Field (Varsity).
If you have any questions, please let me know!
