U.S. Army veteran Paul Hutchings visited Mrs. Ciampoli’s 1st grade class this morning to share his experiences serving during the Vietnam War. “It’s a privilege to be here with you today. You are precious to every soldier out there and that’s why we serve, to protect your freedom,” Mr. Hutchings told students.
Mr. Hutchings shared items such as The Purple Heart he was awarded and memories of serving that resonated with students, such as how in the Army they practice every day to get better and the importance of protecting yourself to ensure you are safe. “They teach you about honesty, respect and how important it is to rely on each other,” Mr. Hutchings said.
Thank you so much Mr. Hutchings, and your wife Judy, for visiting our students today and for your service to our country!
