Students in Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School Spanish classes recognized Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) by creating “papel picado” (cut paper) for a multi-grade level ofrenda in the school lobby.
The Mexican holiday takes place Nov. 1 and 2 to honor deceased loved ones and ancestors, explained Teacher Lorraine Warner.
