U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado visited Castleton Elementary School and Maple Hill Jr./Sr. High School today to talk with students.
At CES, 5th graders asked questions they prepared such as what it is like to work in Congress, what was his favorite subject in 5th grade, and who inspired him to enter politics.
“A lot of people inspired me to go into politics. My parents raised me to always thinking about serving, even though they weren’t in politics, they taught me about making sure that I vote, making sure I was engaged in my community, making sure I gave back wherever I can and help those in need. I think a lot of the lessons I learned was from my parents,” said Rep. Delgado.
At Maple Hill High School, Rep. Delgado answered student questions for over an hour, sharing how he works with representatives with different views to what issues are most important to him.
“It is very important for me to come to places like this and talk to young people,” said Rep. Delgado. “If you take anything from this today, do not give up your power. Always believe that you have power.”
