With 5-0 win over Berne-Knox in the Class C Sectional Quarterfinals on May 21, Coach Rico Frese recorded his 244th career victory as the Varsity Baseball Coach at Maple Hill.
The win puts Coach Frese atop the list for most victories all time by a Maple Hill baseball coach, passing longtime assistant Jim Canonica.
“Maple Hill baseball has been in great hands with Coach Frese and his staff. I am so impressed with his work ethic and his dedication to his players and the game of baseball. What made the day even more special was watching Coach Canonica pass the torch to Coach Frese. Congratulations, Coach Frese!” said Athletic Director David Austin.
