MHHS Students Have Artwork Selected for Exhibit

Congratulations to MHHS students Savannah Huskie, Oteria Ludwig and Kellen Nugent who had their artwork selected for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition at the Troy Art Center. “Students had the opportunity to see work from other schools and meet with Congressman Paul Tonko, who spoke about how important art is in school and the community,” said teacher Gale DellaRocco.

Varsity Tennis Coach Kolby Flach Steps Down After 17 Years

After 17 years with the Maple Hill boys tennis program, varsity coach Kolby Flach has stepped down to spend more time with his family. Since 2009 when he became varsity coach, Flach has won four Patroon Conference Championships and five Section 2 Championships. Teacher Lucas Ashby will take over as boys varsity coach. “Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication,” said Athletic Director Mark Bubniak.

The Maple Hill High School senior class enjoyed their class trip to Busch Gardens on June 14.

Schodack CSD Student Speaks at Tech Valley High School Graduation

Schodack CSD student Cullen Utermark was a commencement speaker at Tech Valley High School, where he graduated June 21. Board of Education member Paul Puccio also was a speaker at the ceremony. Congratulations!

Drama Club's "Bye Bye Birdie" a Hit With Community

The MHHS Drama Club production of "Bye Bye Birdie" was a big hit with the community who came out to support students on May 30 and 31. "I'm proud of our students and all the hard work they put into it," said Superintendent Bob Horan. "It was extremely funny and I enjoyed both nights." Click here for photos...

Family Makes Donation to Special Ed Program

The family of Mary Rossetti, who passed away this year, asked for donations to be given to the district's Special Education department in lieu of flowers. MHHS junior Teresa Monahan presented a $1,100 donation in her grandmother's name to the district. The district would like to thank the family for their generosity and offer its heartfelt condolences for their loss.

New Breakfast and Lunch Prices for 2014-15

Parents, please note that the price of lunch will increase by 15 cents and breakfast will increase by 25 cents for the 2014-15 school year. High School breakfast will cost $1.25; lunch will cost $2.40. Posted 7/18/14.

Students Name Scholar Athletes for Excellence in Academics

Congratulations to the boys and girls track and field teams and boys lacrosse team who were named Scholar Athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. To receive the honor, each team had to earn a GPA of 90% or better for the quarter. Posted 5/19/14.

The NYS Higher Education Service Corporation has launched a College Financial Aid Award Letter Comparison tool to help college-bound students and families interpret their award letters and get the bottom line cost of each college before making their final decision. The tool allows students and families to see side-by-side comparisons, highlights net costs, and estimates the full two- or four-year cost of each college.
